Laptop was stolen

So, yesterday during our wet plate collodion workshop (amazing btw) someone ran through the building and, grabbed my laptop and ran out the backdoor. Its gone.

I was pissed has hell, grad application are due in a few weeks, all of my work was on that machine. My digital images were on that, and all of my class notes. Not to mention programs, music, invoices, and stuff that I don’t even know I need (until I find out that I need it later).

Had some beers for Kims birthday last night and woke up this morning feeling kind of liberated.

I have to say, as much as this sucks I was kind of a slave to my machine. I always carried it around with me, I was always doing some kind of work (photoshop, writing, mostly just blog surfing).

Today I picked up my 35mm camera and shot.

I think it was appropriate that this happened during a workshop on 19th century image making.

Light Bulb Day

Today I changed four lightbulbs, from four different types of lamps. I like this job.

Night at the museum

The Burke Museum had a happy hour and opened up the mamal collection to the public. We drank some free (donated) beer and wine in their cafe which is beautiful. Its interior paneling form the 18th century. And its a coffee shop open 7 days a week (prob a good place to hang out).



Then we went up stairs to their mammal collection. It was so interesting that I will refrain from talking about it (I can get really excited about geeky stuff!)

Makes me wish I was a Biologist.

Jack, Annabell, Grandma, and Molly come to visit

Among other things, Jack and I worked on a project together.
It goes in sequence:
Tank one shoots tank two,
Tank two shoots three tanks,
Helicopter drops a bomb on the tank
Giant plane runs over helicopter
Title wave crushes plane
Giant missile destroys earth
Sun eats missile
Boot lands on the sun
Dragon eats the universe
Universe inside the dragon has a big bang
Everything that exists anywhere turns into nothing
Jack grabs everything that exists anywhere
Jack gets crushed by giant thumb tack

Berlin party was a success

I was to busy shooting passport pictures for everyone (east and west german) so I did not shoot any pictures of the event. Needless to say it was a success, here are some of the passport pictures that I shot.
